  • Nice work Daniel!

  • Nice work!

  • some earlier guitars i made not thinking about a ground. so i took a guitar cable, soldered a wire to the negative, then soldered it to a very thick piece of solder wire, about 5 inches long. when i plug a guitar in, i put the thick (malleable) solder wire between the strings behind the bridge. really works! quiet. (or you can hold the wire, your body grounds it).

what do i know, should quiet myself. Ask Ted Crocker, he has helped me out of several jams! check out his wiring schematics !

  • oops...entire inside of the box....

  • Thank you Tim. Actually, I try to apply the tape on the entire inside not the box. Interference control for all the crap in the air. They make paint too. Grounding is the main issue. There's a You Tube video where they measured electricity in the air several feet away from an improperly grounded amp. amazing. (someone out there want to team up to make tin foil hats to keep the aliens out?)

anyway, Tim, it's basically called shielding. Pickups first, then whatever. I just get carried away. no real reason. proper grounding. piezos not so much.

  • So copper tape under the Humbuckers?   Is there other areas that you use the tape on?

    beautiful fretboard

  • No, that's my ebony fretboard. Cut the fret slots, (one Japanese saw down), laminated it to a quarter inch piece of oak, tapered it with a Strat drawing, and jig, needed a valium after that. Then I proceeded to put the frets in. The wood is so hard i broke out my grommet fret press, (in photo), had to use a pipe for leverage. As the frets went in, i could hear the oak crunching a bit, but all worked out well. (put dowel markers in first the sanded. Forever ). (2nd photo is after I cut the slots. think i posted it before, i'll look for a finished shot)
