Hey Leo, I do keep it simple. The neck gets clamped into position on the top then I drill holes for about 5 screw which are screwed in from the side you're looking at. then I close it up and glue the top shut. Just the two sound holes on the top lid. Since the dulcimer neck itself carries all the tension from the strings I didn't add any extra bracing to the box like I normally would for a guitar.
