  • If you use spray paint now you can use wood stain on a rag in between those frets to rub off the paint the stain reactivates the spray paint and you can rub it right off and also stain it at the same time. Practice practice practice!

If you use a water based stuff you need to rub it off quick before it dries and maybe damp you rag with water.

You can sand in between those frets with a piece of 220 grit and not screw up the frets to a point.

  • aha that's why it's darker by the frets ---like it, i'll do a test before i go ahead, this is timely- i have an old beer crate build that needs a 'weathered ' looking  neck...;;thank you :)

  • No it's not really a secret just paint it black with flat paint and then sand it off till it looks the way you want it too.

Now on the fret boar I did not sand it i Painted it on there and rubbed it off as soon as I painted it on it is too hard to sand in between the frets.

  • i like the neck finish ,howd you get that effect please, or keep it to y'self ...;)
  • probably like Bovril only chicken...i'll pass, but i like the look-----old...

  • Ha, ha.   I would have admired this one anyway, but the liquid chicken thing put the topping on.  Hmm.  Does this topping taste funny?
