ok i get it ,looked it up online. stuff in a tin ...
yes Wendy we're here to help ...just ask..
mmm a solid w/bench is favourite ,the 'workmate' benches are ok for most jobs tho' .your plane needs to be super sharp ,an art in itself .good luck and have fun ..J
Those are both great ideas Jim. I did a tin 4 string a while back. Rusty Canjo is what I called it. I never did put knobs on the amp. Couldn't think of a knob I wanted. I should go do some beach combing.
Maddog-I'm having issues squaring the neck/fretboard surfaces for gluing. My workspace is a folding job mate table ($18 cheap) and a variety of hand tools, I live in a condo and work on my deck, my neighbors complained when I used a dremel for a pickup hole on my body. It's a challenge. I finally got some planes but between the uneven work bench and trying to hold the bench down I made a mess of the fretboard. My saving grace is this time I got a 3/4 inch board and I still have 1/2 an inch to get it right ;)
Hmm, I think fossil is a high dollar watch. I made a stick dulci with a similar tin. Yeah Wendy, one string on a broomstick with a pickup attached is all you need till you get a real neck made!
Are you having problems building necks Wendy? Let us know if you have any questions, we're a helpful bunch of folks on CBN. If I can't help you then Jabes can and if Jabes can't then Dan can and down the line, I don't think I have ever had a question go unanswered on CBN. We're here if ya need anything :-)
I bought a busted mini fender from a music store at cost and swapped out the broken and fried components. I have an almost finished cigar box amp as well. Same deal. Busted amp, fix the bad, make her good. Just picked up a larger fried amp from a coworker I'm going to build into a wine crate once I fix the board :) if only necks were as easy as electronics, I'd have a guitar to plug into my amps lol! I'm working on neck attempt three for a guitar. I have the body ready...

Oh yeah, some fossils for the knobs would be cool! Maybe petrified wood.
