That Cherry sure is beautiful...I am bookmatching a Spruce 2x4 for the Dulcimer I'm working on now and the Ohio LPG. I ripped it on the tablesaw, got 4 pieces out of it. There's enough left over for another Dulcimer. Don't know how good it is, but I'm bracing it really well, and the price sure is right. Also it was a particularly nice 2x4. I'm real fussy choosing wood!kinda knotty, but It's OK if you like the rustic look!

I got the wooden rosette from http://www.folkcraft.com/padauk.html They sell them for about five bucks a pop and have different woods. I found a good source for nice inexpensive wood for fronts and backs athttp://ocoochhardwoods.com/scroll_saw_lumber.php The neck I bought at home Depot.
Wow! Way cool, Alan! I tend to agree with Monterey that the bridge placement looks pretty balanced, but guess it'd still work nicely a smidgeon back. My gitties are typically a 25" scale, and I think that beautiful curved taper also accentuates the slender neck. Well done!
Well it looks great Alan. The bridge looks to be nicely symmetrical with the rest of the instrument. Although the headstock does look long, it adds to the overall effect of the long slender neck. I think it's Rad! Look forward to seeing a video or hearing a soundtrack!
It was my first one. I measured incorrectly in my planning and put too much length in the neck. I did not figure it out till I got to building the fretboard. So, I quickly changed to a 25 1/2 scale length and had to compensate by making the headstock longer than I wanted. The bridge is also not as far back as I wanted. Works great though. She sounds great plugged in to an amp.
