The stain was actually a mix of 2 "leftovers" I had. One was Red Mahogany and the other was Golden Oak. I just mixed them together in one can. I really liked the results as well. The red mahogany was a little too dark by itself (IMHO) but the golden oak lightened it up just enough to give it a nice "glow".
I really like these pickups. The sound is really good and the installation is pretty smooth since the are prewired. Just be careful with the handling of them. The wires are small and the soldering will come undone if handled roughly. The only problem I've really had with them is the plastic "cover". They are prone to breaking and cracking. I even got one of them that was broken when I pulled it out of the package. Thinking about writing the dealer to see about a replacement.
