  • Kane,

It will work either way, it's just easier to install the strings through the top. Remember there aren't any rules, do whatever floats your boat.

  • Just about to embark on my first build and I'd like to shape a tailpiece similar to this one. I've seen a few and wondered why most seem to put the strings in with the end 'balls' showing rather than poked through from underneath. Personally, I think they're ugly and would sooner hide them. Would that work or would there be some extra risk of the strings breaking?

  • Thank you for the compliments guys. I am hoping it arrives in the new owner's hands soon, it shipped out on 2-10.

  • beautiful

  • Nice colour scheme Bruce... well done!

  • Thanks Richey and Pick.

  • Really nice job there Bruce!

  • sweet!!!

  • Thanks guys, not too fancy but, it was a fun build.

Frank, yep I did make the tailpiece. I have a few blanks cut out and laying on the workbench.

  • I like what you did here, very artistic.
