I've made a few oilcan guitars, but followed Roosterman's tip and took the top off with a can opener to install the centreblock in this one...a lot easier than my technique of threading the neckstick thru the neck cut-out.

I started doing these with a thru' stick and threading that in through the neck pocket cutout..really tricky. The other option is to cut the top off and then you've got full access to put in a centreblock, various bits of reinforcement to stiffen the can ends and then refix the top.
Great guitar John but I'm trying to get my head around how you made it. If you took the top off the can with a can opener then how did you fix it back on again - and how come it looks un-molested ? However you did it, the results are impressive, but I'd love to know how.
