Played out last night with the weed wacker cigar box bass I made. So many people couldn’t believe the strings were actual weed trimmer line. Sounded great too.

you can use i the springs on a 4 string too . by stretching the spring out differently on each. but . ya kinda gotta "tune" each to length .(pain in the a@@) but .. only gotta do it once ;-)
cool.. here's a tip . (more for one string weed wacker basses ) .
If you want to use a mag pickup , slip a metal pen spring over the string , Place it right where it meets the pickup . you can crimp the ends to help it stay in place if needed .
