I used a dollar store craft box as I had ran out of decent cigar boxes. There is a good wood store near by so I picked up a nice straight piece of ash for the neck and a piece of 1/4" purple heart for the fretboard. I also used it to cap the heal and widen the neck to accommodate the three in line tuners. I used corian for the nut and saddle. This one uses a store bought violin transducer for pick-up and bridge which is dead simple, cheap and it works well. finished with a 250K pot and wood volume knob.
This was my first go at free hand cut "F-holes". I used a paper template, drill and coping saw....not too bad.
