  • Just realized that “Blacky” is the guitar in the artwork for my Wes Carl “Vacationer” painting. The f holes and cross was my clue. :^)

  • I know a hobo named Iowa Blacky. He used to visit our train museum “The Depot” every summer. Haven’t seen him lately. I think he’d like your Blacky. I sure do.
  • Thanks, Gary, Jerry and AGP.   I do like black instruments.  I used a board stretcher to make the hole tighter.  Naw, just kidding.  Part of the through the box neck was keeping the paint can lid from seating down like it should.   I got a new tool last week, an inexpensive oscillating tool.  It is capable of quite a lot and the best thing I can see is that it gets into tight spots and can cut pretty darn fast.

  • Nice 'UJ', but does Eric Slowhand Clapton know you have his favourite Geetar :-D

  • Updates are always fun.,,. Looks good in Black.,.maybe throw in a little white here and there for some contrast.,.,sure do like that fancy paint lid.,., your an "outlaw" CBG'r now.,.,

  • Nice update! I'd be interested in hearing how you managed to get a tighter fit for the paint can lid? Seems like it would involve making the original hole a tad smaller (which can be a trick!) or deforming the paint can lid? Regardless, she's a big, bold, beautiful girl!
  • Not a new build.  I just change them up now and then.  Just a paint job on the top and got the paint can lid reso to fit tighter, which improved the sound and volume.
