Auctioned for $100K at Nowruz Commission 2014.

The Nowruz Commission in partnership with the Gift of Life foundation auctioned off my gitty for $100K! Clearly for the good cause and out of extreme generosity. First aid kit box, blood wood fingerboard, medicine vial slide, Nowruz logo burned in headstock and Red Lion and Sun (Red Cross affiliate) logo.

    What a wonderful cause and a fine instrument!  Makes my contributions to breast cancer research pale in comparison - but it ALL counts.  It is an exhilarating feeling!  I encourage others to do likewise.

    A friend of mine is a cofounder of the Nowruz Commission. We were talking about my pickle jar guitar and he sounded inererseted in a themed guitar. That night I suggested a first aid kit. When I showed him the finished product he asked if it could go in a silent auction... which turned into a loud auction. I nearly dropped the guitar when the opening bid was $15K and fought back tears at $100K. Again, I know this is way more than its worth, thanks to extreme generosity. Gift of Life sends (in this case) sends pediatric cardiologists afar to train doctors and save children. Suffice it to say the Mrs. and I got a little choked up.
