Aluminium Bacofoil Pickup tester

Here's a quick sketch, I just double checked and the opposite magnet may actually be south,as it attracts to the opposite one rather than repels.The earth field from the aluminium makes it all work somehow!The electric buzzer on it's own, detatched would only gets one string, this system get all strings. Disconnect the earth and it stops working.Strange but true.... can anyone explain?
