AGP #247 - “Cold Cow”(4 String Recycled Material Guitar)Scale : 648mm / 25½inchesStrings : .042NW/.030NW/.018PS/.015PS/Tuning: G / D / g / B /Unashamedly nicked the idea for this one from “Shane Wagstaff’s” Wall Light Build. Couldn’t source a wall light, so had to settle for a ceiling light cover. All timber is recycled (& free), neck is from my recycled Piano (Poplar I think?), the fret board is an unknown hardwood, soundboard wings are Meranti, the finish on which is a failed attempt at Crackle Paint, the “Cold Cow” name comes from the fact that it looks like its “Fresian” , a 6.7k Tele Type Neck Pickup was used, the string gauges mimic the 4 low strings of the Ernie Ball Keith Richards Five String Set.

"Thanks Uncle John", lately I haven't been using a lot of timber stains on my builds, but the wood tones on the Neck of this one was enhanced by a Walnut Stain, the sound of this build is a lot different to my normal builds, whether or not this is due to the materials used, or the fact the Tele Type Neck Pickup is situated at the Bridge I don't know?, it does have a louder unplugged Acoustic volume to it than I expected, and dare I say it, it does have a "Rickenbackery" type sound to it ??? ;-)
"Thanks BILL GRONER", the price of "Free Stuff" is always spot on, as my learned friend Uncle John, a fellow member of the "Tight Ass Club" would heartily agree !!!!!! :-)
"Thanks Jim Morris", Free Recycled Stuff is my favourite building medium, and sometimes failures (ie; crackle attempt) have a way of turning out better than planned !!!
