A few new purchases

I got a few new toys today to add to the ever expanding collection. I went to Lincoln, Nebraska and bought the old 1960 Alamo Capri model 2650 40 watt amp from a nice lady that had owned it for most of her life. Very happy with the sound from the original 8 inch Alamo speaker in this nice little amp. Then went down Highway 2 to Unadilla, Nebraska and bought the Fender FM-52E Electric Mandolin and Pignose Amp from a retired Preacher. The Sweet Mist tobacco git and the Swamp Dog git sound mighty fine through both amps. Good Day!!! :-)

  • Pignose!  Like in the movie Crossroads.   Named for the pignose looking volume knob.   That little tobacco tin git is excelent, I have sampled it\.

  • Thanks Reeds!

    I hear ya Ron!

Thanks Wes! Don't usually buy small amps as I normally build em' like ya'll do but I have always wanted one of these :-)

  • I know how it is... You just keep telling yourself "I can quit whenever I want to."
  • See what taking a vow of poverty gets you? ;-)
  • good deal right there....

  • Thanks Pick and Clock! Didn't really need another Mandolin (I really don't need anymore amps either but what the hell right) but the old Preach wouldn't sell me the Pignose unless I bought both the Fender and Pig together. He made me a smokin' deal so I can't complain :-)
