Jim, its tuned just like a 5 string banjo but up a whole step so instead of open G (gDGBd) its open A (aEAC#e). I can then tune it to various oldtime tunings like A model/sawmill tuning (aEADe), or double D (aDAde).

Thanks for the info Michael W. I was mistaking the string trees for additional tuners I think. Sounds like you've got a good grasp of old time banjo!
