I managed to get a tight fit for the sound board by using a cheap embroidery hoop. I cut the hoops to fit inside the pan , then laminated the two hoops together. This formed a tight fit and once dry I slid it up so it stood proud of the pan. Glue was lightly applied to the hoop and the sound board , then I clamped it using bulldog clips. This resulted in a soundboard that doesn't need to be screwed down. I'm also going to try using the hoops to reinforce round cookie tins. Embroidery hoops cost about $3 Aud
