11 - Neck Close-Up1

The Barbed Wire Banshee - I'm quite happy with this build, especially the neck. The wood-burned barbed wire spikes even mark the fret positions!This is the first build where I finished the neck after sanding - the open grain of the red oak was not playing nice. I sealed it up with wood glue diluted with water, then sanded and finished with fine steel wool.

  • Uncle John:  It's not a booze flask (though now I am getting some interesting ideas).  

     

    I also have plans for a git that opens to reveal a (mini bottle) liquor cabinet, possibly with a bottle-opener as a tail-piece.
