Hello Tom,
In regards to your question in the chat earlier...I put wings on the sides of the neck where the bridge sits....when using a mag pick up...there in no need to worry about box resonance because the pick up uses the vibrations from the string to transfer sound...so no need for the gap between the lid and the neck....I'm am posting a small diagram so you can see what I talking about. Hope it helps.
The dark areas are if you want the gap....from the side view the dark area show where the wings are located.
