  • HI, you really seem to know what you are doing and I'm sure you have some great tips for the rest of us. I guess the one thing I really need is a workbench - then some tools - because I'm about to set off on my second build and I want to make a smoother more finished job of it but keeping the home made style and appearance, which with my skills will definitely be the case :) First question - what sort of everyday available woods would be best for a 4 string CBG neck and for a fingerboard on top - the place I will go to is likely to have a limited range of woods. Cheers, Nigel
  • steve any questions you have get in touch glad to help
  • Hello,
I have started a CBN group entitled, "How to Play CBG" It is my hope and intention to encourage the "Wealth of Talent" here on the Nation to share their knowledge and skill to further the CBG movement. Please consider contributing an instructional "video" link to this group. If you are a viewer seeking instruction, please feel free to write. If you have any suggestions or know other players who you think may want to post instructional "video" links, please contact me. Thank you for your interest and support, Keni Lee

  • Hello, Steven! I'm on my way to Asheville, and plan to spend Friday or Saturday in town. I'll try to get in touch with you when I'm there, but at least I"ll be stopping by the Woolsworth!

  • Hello, Steven! I've seen your fiddles down in Asheville, but I was too shy to pick one up and have a go. Not this time! I'm heading down again in a few weeks and will be stopping by the Woolworths for certain.

I've got a fiddle on the bench now, and hope to have it done in a week or so. I started a CB fiddle group, I'd be glad if you joined. Only a handful of fiddlers here, and I barely count as one myself.
  • that looks really cool
  • Howdy Steve! Man You've been busy! All your violins look great

    Keep up the good work!

  • Hello, I am the guy who makes the Carolina Fiddle CB violins. I authored the "How to make..." pdf at www.CarolinaFiddle.com. I am happy to offer suggestions or participate in discussion about CB violns.
