  • hey matty it is a piece of 1/4" poplar
  • Thanks Matt. my fret slots didnt look that good when i first started. it takes a little practice and a little thinking. try it sometime, its not that hard. this is a good place to ask questions if needed... good luck
  • re Montecristo six string Redneck
That's where the bridge is supposed to be it's a gibson 24.562" scale with perfect intonation - if the bridge was further back the Scale would be wrong ! - dont forget that this is a badass bridge they are wider than a standard les paul style bridge as the strings wrap around it but the scale length is from the Saddles not the front of the Bridge - you cant just place The Bridge anywhere just because it looks better !

  • Thanks Matt
  • I buy a threaded rod from Lowe's... I think they paint it green there, not sure what the diameter is... and just go to work with a hacksaw. You can kinda smooth down the edges with some really coarse sandpaper, and the rod usually yeilds maybe 4-5 guitars worth of material (I use it for both nuts and bridges). You could also buy your typical bolt, and hack off the head.
  • Hey Matt, I'm sure paint will work all right... you might feel the paint a little bit with your figners, since it'll be put on top of the wood, ya know? But I've seen some folks who paint the entire neck all sorts of crazy designs, then seal it, and it looks great. Keep me updated man, I wanna see what you come up with.
  • Hey Matt, thanks for stopping by. It's not paint, it's actually wood inlayed into the maple fingerboard. Walnut for the "fret" strips, and oak for the dots.
  • got my grommets got some tuners got all that i need now the process begins just for practice i made a little one stringer and its a blast!!
  • welcome to a great site Matt. the rings i use on soundholes are tarp grommets, the things you put the rope through. we also use sink or shower drains. good luck, make some noise and have fun doin it.
  • Welcome aboard, Matt! You will find lots of helpful folks and information here on all things CBG (CBB, CBU, etc.) Feel free to poke around, ask questions, and post your stuff (photos, recordings, videos, etc.).

    Most of all, have fun!

    Tres.
