I thought I would be proactive over the Xmas period and make some fret templates so I printed out various ones from W fret transferred the 25 1/2 scale to a piece of aluminium . See photo's any thoughts on what I did wrong
Looks like it's been done for 24" scale. If not, this confirms what I've always believed is dodgy about using printed fret templates - the electro-mechanical accuracy of the printer, the driver software, and to a lesser extent the stability of the paper you are printing onto all introduce the possibility of inaccuracy. It looks like the printer isn't printing out at true 100% scaling. Personally, I'd forget printing a template, just get a list of running measurements from the nut and transfer that onto your rigid template using a steel rule. Also, don't mark it with a pencil, scribe it with a scalpel or craft knife. Definitely a case of modern technology being less trustworthy than a keen eye and a steady hand.
i,m open to correction here, but with many posts re fret templates,i fail to see the reason not to use a quality ruler with the required dimensions, any minor variances will surely be less troublesome than printer, paper variances i feel

It does look like a 24" scale length, the twelfth fret look spot on 12"
