Hi Guys..although not a workshop, I've been asked to do a Cigar Box Guitar Evening in Barnsley..it would be a Friday night, so there's the possibility of working in a workshop thing, maybe on the Saturdayl. Anyone who fancies giving a CBG open mic evening a go...shout up....they are chasing me ..so we are in demand!!!!
Hi guys, we're working on this, so there's a few options. One thing we were thinking of was a small 'do' like the Cigar Box Shindig in Newton Abbot, but that probably will not get sorted until well into the New Year. Alternatively, it there were enough people who wanted to just do a players' workshop, without having to organise a venue for open mic, PA, performers etc. and all that sort of stuff, we'd only need half a dozen players to make it work, and we could do that pretty much anywhere...pub back room, institute / village hall meeting room etc.
This sounds brilliant. I'm in Yorkshire (Sheffield) and proper shit on a CBG, so anything like this would be great, as well as a chance to meet some of you lot!

I'm happy to get involved in leading the workshop, if we can try and fix a date and a place and pull together a few more people, we CAN make it happen. My parents live in Barnsley, so I'm up in that part of the world fairly often.

Mal, there's been a few postings from the Yorkshire area recently, and I wonder if it might be worth doing a small scale thing in that part of the world..a get-together, some informal lessons, jam plus open mic evening?
