  • Collaboration anyone?

    cbg.mp3

    cbg%202.mp3

    direct%20current.mp3

  • YES! finally a place for bands to come together in Texas!  or from ANYWHERE for that matter!  Just found this brand new site.  NOW THIS IS WHAT I'M TALKIN ABOUT!!!!  This could be GREAT!

    http://www.texashomemademusic.com/

  • If you post a file, (wave/mp3) just note the following

    1. Tempo (record to a metronome)
    2. Time Signature
    3. Count In, how many beats did you wait to start recording (8 should be about right, you can trim the excess after the mix. don't use your software's count in feature because it wont be compatible with other software.)
    4. Key or number chart.

That way anyone can record in any software and collect only the parts of the project they want to use.

If anyone can play along with any software, it may grow legs quicker.

    Just a thought.
  • I live in the Triad area of NC. I play mainly play a banjo, harmonica, and few different CBGs.
  • I would like to become a musician... any tips?
If anyone is passing through Inverness by all means drop in for an impromtu jam - I would love to get something going up here but CBGers are a bit thin on the ground in these parts!
  • If this thing works, it ought to be QUITE interesting. Might even change the face of music as we know it! HA!!
  • I'll have to go back and look, but I think it was .wav. I wanted to run a backwards track, and Audacity allowedme to do it, while Garage Band didn't. My usual sonic wierdness, don't you know. I'll have to try it again and get back to you.
  • Henry, were you transferring "export" files (.wav, .mp3)? Or "project" files (.aup, whatever GB uses?)
  • Hey, Tres and Ted! On my latest cd, I used both audacity and garageband on one song, transfering files between them without any problem.

Anyone Interested?

Hey all, I am in need of an original up-beat slide with backing acoustic intro, sort of honky tonk or Jig for want of a better term/genre/word(s) approximately 2m:30s to 3:00 (useable) for a track we're working on, in short I can build a CBG but playing it proficiently ain't there yet, feel sorry for me I'm a keyboard player ;-) Essentially the recording will fade off in to now 12 minutes of analogue synths (think Tangerine Dream) then return at the end in some form that I've yet to decide on,…

Slow Blues (audacity collaboration)

Following on to Diane's "sourdough" topic, I'm going to attach a "starter" project for Audacity. The project contains only a metronome count-in plus a simple timekeeping drum track, generated from the Hydrogen drum machine software. Hydrogen is Linux only, but you don't need to run it to use existing drum tracks. To add tracks to the project, unzip the attached file and point Audacity at the .aup file. You should be able to record new tracks while listening to the existing…

Sour Dough Virtual Band?

How about a Garage Band sound bank? A CBbassist lays down a bass track on Garage Band, and uploads the file here for sharing/embellishing. Players of other instruments pick it up and add to it, and repost. Anyone picks it up again, adds more ("it needs more cowbell!!" and puts it back up. Kind of like sour dough bread, keep passing on the "culture".
