Vigilante Man

Views: 130
A rather more sinister piece than usual, an old song by Woody Guthrie with the meaning given a very loose modern slant being in a slightly experimental mood this time, using a Capo'd Rum Punch to match a higher vocal key (and sometimes off-key...) than usual...(-;Guitar: Rum Punch with Capo on 3rd fret.Steve Trowbridge May 2011Available in 24 bit mono on new "Slowpaw Blues" CD, PM me for details! • Great sound and outstanding production. Nice one.
  • Many thanks guys, much appreciated! (-:

    Sometimes a stripped down effect can have more of an impact, which is very often demonstrated on the 'Nation!

    As for Vigilante man he is still lurking around somewhere...whoever he is whether a rogue cop who oversteps the mark or a young anarchist. My niece was at the recent student protests in London, was innocently "kettled" and along with  many others has some interesting stories to tell!

    @ Uncle John i'm not really that interesting to watch, but will try to do something  (technical issues dictate a new camera needed!)  on a newly written song i am planning, something a little more upbeat (-;

  •     Steve this song is SPOOOKY sinister.    Well done, man.  You kind of both scare me and mellow me out with this one...    Excellent tone, singing and  playing....  But I would kind of like to see some more of you playing and singing.

       I usually agree with my friends Wes, and barefoot Jimmy.   And I do here too.  Great old timey feel and song and vocals.  You sound like you were feeling it..

       I like Woody and love the depression era stories and feel.  I grew up on depression stories.  I would like to have been in the camps with my cbg singing them songs.  But about 9:30pm, I would want to leave and go home to my comfortable home, comfortable home, rotten spoiled cats and good looking wife.  I would shower, use my modern B.R. and hit the sack.

       Ever see the movie, 'Bound For Glory'?

       Smiling Jack, AKA Uncle John

    PS: I was lying about the shower.  I really like to soak in the tub, but do not like to admit it.  Don't know why...

  • great song and video i like how it changes to color at the end for effect
