Otis taylor riffing

I had my wisdom teeth pulled out yesterday, so I'm at home hanging out with my guitars. This is the second CBG I've built. Its a San Cristobal Revelation box with a Tasmanian Myrtle Beech neck. The wings on the headstock are made from scraps of Tasmanian oak (which is actually eucalytptus) that came from my kitchen, and the fretboard is acacia of some sort. I've got brass nails as fret position markers on the top of the neck. The pickup is a cheapo single coil, and I've got it plugged into a Blackstar Fly3 mini amp, with plenty of reverb.Tuning is GDGB. Sorry for the lousy playing. I'm still learning my way around the four strings, but it works well for noodling around with some of Otis Taylor's electric banjo riffs.

  • Nice looking and sounding build Scott, and if that's Lousy Playing!, I'd like to know what category my playing fits into, because it ain't as good as yours  :-D

  • Nice guitar and very nice playing.  I enjoyed that and hope to hear more.  GDGB is one of my two fave 4 string tunings.
