  • Thanks for weighing in BrianQ! I just checked out the Adolescents' version; from gritty to high energy! Wow!

  • I remember there was a version that was popular on the west coast by a SoCal  punk rock band called the Adolescents in 87', but I like em allcool

  • Wow and thanks Alan! The Animals version is the one I'm familiar with; didn't realize there were so many choices. I do remember you doing it too; a very distinctive and recognizable song even without singing it.

  • I'm with you Kale! This is a song that gives you a lot of room to maneuver and still come out well. I like those kind of songs; glad a Slinger finally picked it!

  • Glad to hear you like this one Uncle John! It's probably the compelling chord progression; it's certainly satisfying to play.

  • "Good One Slingers", a True Classic in every sense of the word, and you could say it's one of my favourite Tunes, just counted 17 different artists who recorded it in my Music Library, and like most people, I think the most popular version, and the one I remember best is by "The Animals", but an early 1930's version by Clarence Ashley, and a 1940's version by Leadbelly is well worth listening to, its also a Tune I play quite often, and have previously posted four Versions (2 Clean & 2 Grungy using four different Builds) on the CBN Site laughing

  • This is one of those songs that always sounds good. You can do it fast, slow, punk, country, jazz, rock... it's always good.

  • Great!  Always loved this song.  Still do.

  • Song #468 CBG Songbook
