EBe CutleryBox Demo 4/17 by RTL CBGs

A short demo of a recent Guitar I built from a cutlery box.I'm enjoying the size of this box, it is comfortable to play. Walnut neck, Fret board and Head stock. C B Gitty tuners, medium fret wire and Southbound strings. The amp is a $5 Thrift store find - karaoke with a dual cassette. The echo features gives a bit of reverb. The small depth size of the box results in a quieter Acoustic. I have been making 'S" holes rather than 'F' holes lately because it makes it visually different from most others. I used a French Curve drawing aid for the shape. I cut the holes by hand and the Gold enamel paint helps to cover pesky and inevitable chipping at the edges.

  • Thank you, Dekek.

Maddog. Yeah, there is a rod piezo between the box lid and inside stick that gets pinched when the strings are tightened.

  • Nice build and playing good too!

  • Good un' Rich! Sounds and looks great!

    Piezo pickup?

  • Thanks, Anon and Jim.

Will, yeah.  Can you see any progress? I used to hand my builds to other people at the meetings and ask " What does this sound like?" Thanks for noticing. As you know, I have problems with some of my fingers. I can't hold a pick  without cramping - so that's the reason for the thunder thumb method... and the use of just the first two on my left hand.

  • Nice job, Rich.  First playing video?

  • Well done!

  • nice !  ;-)
