Jug, Tuned, Water, Xylophone, Percussion

Here's one from the vault. I built this back in Spring of 2021and played it for one summer. I enjoyed it so much that one day I dragged it off the patio and stuck it in front of the studio for a couple hours. The bottles are tuned with water and its played with champagne cork mallets. This is an improvisation that I kept coming back to. I was kinda in to Danza music from Puerto Rico at the time and I think I was trying to channel it for this piece. The Jug is a clay pot I got from good will that has found a new calling with me as a percussion instrument. Far from perfect but it is the result of a love affair with a simple instrument over the course of a lazy summer.

Cool project. I remember doing this as a kid but there's no reason it shouldn't be revisited. Great idea for a vid.
