Thanks Sammy. I love playing bass even tho' I'm not comfortable singing at the same time.
Yeah Jeff, I'd like to hear how the suede one sounds. I appreciate your offer of the Romeo but I've got the one I mentioned plus about 3 other cool boxes in my "to build" stack and no time to do them. It would be cool to keep an ongoing box trade thing going since I often end up with several of the same boxes. Thanks again!
Jim,
Per your reply to Glenn, I have two of the Romeo boxes in my stash if you want one. They are heavy and don't sound great acoustic but would be great with the magnetic pickups you use. Also, the suede top box sounds AMAZING through an acoustic amp, unplugged is good but a bit quiet. Plug it in and it has this mellow sound that oozes cool. I may have to try a video soon just for that!
Jeff
Thanks Patrick!
Always such a pleasure watching/listening to your vids Jim! Enjoyed it Bro!!!
Hi Glenn, good to hear from you! Those both look great. I've had scarf joints break without the wings (when I dropped them) and I think the little extra support helps a lot. I just got one of those big Romeo boxes and I'm itching to make something with it!
Hi, Jim. Just came across your videos on Cigar Box Nation. Very impressive. I've been applying your advice (given at Grace Manor) on adding 'wings' to the headstock of my builds. I've attached a picture of a couple recent examples. I hope all is well with you and yours and that you have a pleasant and enjoyable holiday season.
Glenn B.
Thanks Jeff. Yeah I couldn't bear to put a fretboard over that pretty wood so the frets are right in the neck. Still watching out for a box like that!
Maybe I should have you make the bass for me. Just need a pirate themed box.(still) Seriously, another great song from you Jim. The neck on that looks amazing, love the striped fretboard.
