  I don't think the hinge fits this type of build, they look good on cigar boxes but this is too nice for a hinge. Make something out of wood for it. As you can see this is just my opinion.

  Normally any of my boxes sound better than a cigar box. By thumping this one I can tell it will be no different. It will sound awesome.

  Ok then I hope the rim doesnt split. I will pilot hole it but sometimes that does help. It is very closr to the edge.
