  • I didn't want to do any extra work to it ,thats why I asked for a finished neck,The inlay is great, but how am I supposed to cut hardwood and shape the headstock with my tiny jigsaw....the guy was having probs selling boxes ,so I helped him out with this project cause he needed $...not gonna lose my optimism over one bad apple, tho. Also didnt want to do my FIRST fret job on such a nice "Piece o wood",so prob wait till i've fretted acouple of lesser necks......,

  • Think you've been done but with some work it could make a nice neck. You're going to have to beg borrow or steal some tools

  • I'd take it off yer hands if you suddenly develop a bad conscience...>:-E
  • just got fret wire guess this 'll b practice

  • I paid for it to be fretted , and this is what I got....,I can make fretless, my damn self .Guess I paid lots for scarf joint and in lay....lol  ,I guess ok  on  headstock for me to shape but....... he knows I have no tools 4 that...Just lame  in general, just being honest as a consumer...I wouldnt sell this to anyone in good conscience.

  •  Looks like a perfectly fine NECK BLANK to me, but not at al what I would call a finished neck. I can see why the peg head might be left alone -in case you wanted to do yr own shape- but I would expect a finished neck to arrive somewhat shaped/sanded. Yeah, This is one big reason why I make my own necks & fboards. But as long as all that rough stuff is straight, you should be able to make a fine git with it, just gonna take a little bit longer.

  • Vinnie, I see a lot of fret boards sold that look like the bottom one.   Looks pretty typical and nice walnut.   You can find pre fretted boards. Check out cbgitty.

Be easy to make a fretless out of the bottom one.  That top one would be a disappointment.   Did you see a photo before buying?   It does look like something under Clock's work bench or my scap pile.  But with work, it can maybe make a nice git.

  • That looks like stuff under the workbench out in my shed...
