As far as north and south goes it sits about in the middle, but right on the Mississippi river. Right across the river from Natchez, Ms if you ever heard of that. We lived in houma when I was a baby, man thats seriously south!
Gives a different sound than a reg 3 string, there is a little bit of difference in the guages of the strings. I use the #4,3, and 2 out of a pack of martin medium strings and a #4,3 and 2 out of a martin light pack of strings. I got some video's on here of the double three strings, go give er' a listen.

what does the double string give you? They look like each pair is the same gauge.
