  • lookin gud

  • I've built a few Baritones of different scale lengths over the yrs Jerry, and love 'em all, not sure of the tuning your using on this one, but it if it's GDg then a 0.52, would apply a lot of tension to the string, abt 18.35k/40.5lbs, I just recently finished a 27 inch scale build (AGP #358) tuned GDg and strung it with 0.44NW /.030NW / 0.20NW strings, these gauges on a 27.5" build would give you an equal string tension of somewhere in the 13.5k/28.5lbs range, (according to The McDonald Patent Universal String Tension Calculator, which I use for nearly all my builds).

A lovely looking Plate and Build, But!, while trying not appear too critical, the large chunky bridge does look a bit out of place, just saying! :-)

  • Thank you UJ,  Baritone.,.,never have tried long scale CBG, or using a LP,.,now I know what not to do next time.,.,the combination of the tall bridge and long scale, + a 0.52 low string is flexing the steel plate.,.,this may get finished out or rebuilt.,., I think I have some cello strings around here somewhere.,.,

  • Looks good. Bass or baritone?
