Wonky Neck

This neck was trouble from the get-go. I notched it for the lid to recess in it, then it bowed when strung. I added some more meat under it, shaped it rather nicely, then it curved upward making it impossible to play fretless (original intention). The end result was to use toothpicks (again) for frets. I did file them all down a little lower than on my other build. Also, drilled the holes wrong for the tuners so I had to laminate my neck stock and relocate the nut, shortening the scale.

  • It came out looking good.  I recently finished a build that gave me a lot of trouble and re-dos.  Some times stubborn persistence pays off.
