This is my first Wine box bass. Plywood neck, spruce top, door hinge tailpiece, lipstick pickup. Rotosound nylon flat wound strings. Sounds thumpin' deep and low!

  • Thanks Lou! That is the first of 5 so far. After building that one, I got orders for more, a couple record producers and a bassist from Scotland. One of my customers went straight to the studio and re-recorded all his bass tracks because he wanted an upright sound and didn't have one nor could he play one! Thanks again for the kind words.

  • Hello! The strings are nylon tape wound over a steel core. They feel GREAT! They make the bass sound almost like an upright fretless.
