  • You can oil it up which will fill voids and harden the wood.  Slow process. Coat a day until you no longer see open pores after oil dries. Then  easy to sand, cut and wood is stable.

  • This one is pretty solid just the outside is dinged and stained from time.

    The top has a weird knot so I'll be using the bottom as the sound board. Problem I'm having is deciding whether or not to sand it.

  • I have you just like it.

    Mine is to delicate to work with.

  • Those old Windsor boxes usually have great close grain tops.  Make for fine acoustic instruments.
