These pics have been around for quite a while and i couldn't take this trench cello out of my head: i had to try and build a replica. Later on i decided to paint it with a more conventional dye.

Hi Diane the good adress is http://www.artpopu.info but it seems that the site is down at the moment. I'm pretyy sure that it will be corrected soon as it was alive few days ago (surely a probleme on maintenance)
You will be interested by the story of Maurice Maréchal who was a musician and become famous during WWI by making a cello (named le poilu - the hairy - nickname of french soldier) with an old door and a german amunition box taht he played often in the trenches. This cello is actually at the museum of Music in Paris and has been remade recently. My Uncle's name is on the Menin Gate in Belgium as one of the missing whose bodies were never found. This music tells a story.
