Walking Stick (cane) with built-in cigar box stick dulcimer. Tuners will be installed below the cigar box where the tail piece normally goes.

Now I can see having a good walking cane to begin with can simplify the build. I'm not so fortunate, so the "cane part" will be made of recycle hardwood (looks like oak). Need to research a good handle design and see if I can find rubber non-slip foot. Should have ever thing else on hand. Sorry about the poor quality drawing -- I drew it 1:1 scale. Should redraw at say 1:5 scale, and then my text and measurements would be readable here on CBN. As it is now, moving around on crutches, if my instrument ha no back strap (many don't), then I have to find away to hold the instrument in my teeth if I want to carry the instrument with me (most have a tie- wrap or two to hang them on the wall ). So, it wasn't much of a mental leap to come up wit this walking cane idea (which I've seen before, too.)
