Uncle John’s Mallard gets a makeover

I added two more frets to the neck, added more stripes and MOP dots. I installled a peizo for electric play and change strings to flatwounds and replaced a tuner that kept breaking strings.

  • Thanks Glenn. Thanks Stormin. I’m liking the flatwounds cause they slide nice. Not so much scratch on the bass strings. I’m using heavier strings also. Med iums instead of light. It’s like a tightrope instead of slack for slide. I like bass tones vers. Treble. The flats cost more though. Paying about 17$ per set.

  • Seems to be break free now Uncle. I’ve kept the little skull tuner to fuss with. I’ll try filing the hole and polish the edge. And try it on another build. I like the little skull. Thanks Wes.

  • That looks great.  I wonder what the deal was with that string busting tuner.  I hope that problem I over with.
