Uncle Crow style finished

Finally got the tuners and strings on. I am pleased except I think I have a bad jack and I did not replace it, but instead, I made a ground plate and while playing the guitar my arm is touching it so there is no hum. I should have done my research again before putting the plate on, but no biggie. Will do that if I ever go to sell. Named this one Spirit of '76 due to the 1976 bicentennial quarter I put in place where the factory stamp was. Inside the box I have some Spirit of '76 stickers. This was a fun build.

  • Thanks for the kind comments. From the reading I have done, piezo's typically should not hum due to the fact they work differently than magnetic pick ups.

  • Very nice. I've had the ground problem too. With mine, if I touched my tone pot shaft it hummed. Once I added a wood knob, the problem stopped. I need to start grounding my strings by using some metal on the tailpiece or bridge to ground to. I agree with SlowHound...
