  Well good wishes to you on finding one.  I have seen them on ebay.  Mine was an exercise in making a 'poor boy build.'  Even though it is from a spruce 2x4, it has held together well and is one of my few favorites.

  I have a few of those non wood ones, I see you added an internal structure, I may have to try that with one of my older box's. By the way, the 70's is now considered old, sometimes we forget when we lived back then. lol

  Not really wood.  Some kind of fibrous stuff with a fake wood grain.   Looks older than it likely is.  10 cent Whitle Owls must be ? 70s?     It sounds good, what ever it is.

  Uncle John, is that White Owl box wood?  I've only been able to find thick cardboard in the old ones.  Nice use of old wood.
