Thanks, Bill. That is very interesting. Not so far as me building one- I don't do tiny solders. But if it works decent and looks cool, well, a lot of folks might be interested in building or buying.
My main hobby for many years has been Ham Radio and I have a friend who is sort of like the Professor on
Gilligans Island. Give him a coconut, some string and duct tape and he'll build a transceiver. I commissioned him to build the tube amp. Originally had a little 3 in speaker that couldn't really handle it. Still some kinks to work out for that matter. It is going back to him tomorrow for some tweaking. It uses a 12AU7A and a 6AQ5 tube. He is supposed to get me a schematic of it that I'll be glad to pass on. Is it better than the transistor Ibanez? , not necessarily, at least at this stage.
Looks cool. Bill. Give us some description, please. Was it hard to make? How does it sound? Where did you get the tubes? (I am ignorant about tube amps)
