I was afraid of running out of string length so I placed the tuners as high as I could. Getting the top tuner in took a little bit of finagling. I lined up the hole in the tuner so that I could look straight through it. Then I threaded the string through and turned the post. As soon as I could I grabbed the string end with needle nose pliers, pulled it through and tightened up the string.
very nice. really makes a difference when the headstock isn't amputated. clean and mean. tuner situation looks pretty tight, especially the top one, how did you get the string on? i'm building a headless guitar now (past 6 months) with a headstock. ran into trouble when the strings weren't long enough. jeez.

Very nice. I would like to see the other end or the full length.
