Yes, John, that's the lifestyle I've returned to. I grew up on a small family farm with lots of the best food to eat, even more hard work and little for material desires. I spent the 20 years chasing the materialistic dragon before wising up the last 5 or so years really focusing on providing an adequate foundation so that my family and I could be secure, but with choices about our activities and how to be of some service. Teaching was my first interest when considering careers. I'm tremendously happy that I've been delayed in my start.
I'm off the career track that provides income with soulless pathways, empty promises and compromises to the values of a family and whole life.
Sounds like life style changes are going on. It ain't about money. It's about finding the life style that makes you happiest or at least unhappy. Being a good guy, husband. dad..... making a living wage...having some enjoyment. Maybe you can be a part time entrepreneur too.
And I'd put being close enough to God for forgiveness above all those things. Best wishes.
Well, the snow did slide off the metal roof of the barn and the solar panels on the house, and I'm sure I can take credit for both. Good thing too. Solar production isn't so hot with a foot of snow blocking the light.
