Yeah Unc, back in the day handsaws were either cross cut or rip with different tooth angles for each. Nowadays they're all 'combination" but I don't think the do rip cuts near as well as the old ones. A friend offered to show me how to re set teeth for ripping and if I have to do this again I may take him up on that!
