  • thanks, I still can't believe it actually works!!
  • Really cool looking little amp
  • lol!!
  • Wesley just checked out your page...how many amps have you made???
  • thanks Smojo...did those holes rather than cut a big hole so you could still see the design on the box : -)...and thanks for the physics lesson, that's useful : -)
  • Great looking amp Belinda, I love the soundholes too. Quick physics lesson. RMS = root mean squared. The sound signal is basically a sort of sine wave which means the voltage goes up to a +ve peak then drops to zero then to a -ve peak and back up again on and on. With music the signal is not constant or regular - there are quiet bits and loud bits. So the rating of the speaker needs to tell you two things - what's the average power it can safely handle over a long period (that's the RMS reading and the one that's most important). What is the maximum power it can handle when the signal hits a high peak. That's the peak power. Your speakers are going to handle the 12 watt amp very well. I scour car boot sales for speakers. You can often pick up a pair of old car speakers for a £1 or 2
  • it's a 4 ohm 4 1/2" speaker.Bought a pair of car speakers from eBay...says on the box 50 watts RMS 150 watts peak power.....hope you understand what that means because I don't,lol! I now a speaker left over, so I'll have to make another amp...bought a wooden box from eBay. This could go on and on and on.......
  • LOVE that soundhole!
