The Anonymous Pick - pic

Muloin, Pierre Decap “PEPI” - Passed away Tuesday, October 11th after a short battle with esophageal cancer. He leaves his wife and best friend for more than thirty years, Valerie Boughner Cole, whom he loved and adored. Pierre was a great cigar box guitar maker, his skill reached all around Canada and the United States. The group Cigar Box Nation especially gave him enjoyment and inspiration. His friends and neighbors knew him as the guardian of Hincks Street and saw him outside often, stopping to chat. His neighbors meant a lot to him, and they were his support in time of need. He also leaves behind his mother Madeleine, sisters Lise and Chantal. He is predeceased by his father Olivier. He is dearly missed.A celebration of life will take place in the future, date to be determined. A private family interment will take place. Personal condolences may be made at www.smithleroy.com.Thanks, big thanks, to CBN and Shane for posting this pic in a blog.I kind of thought I would never get to see Pick's face or know his real name. I am sure thankful for this.He looks kind and gentle. God bless him and his wife, Val.

  • Thanks, George, Steven, all.  Steven, I remember those two.  Good examples of Pick's generosity and fine work.

  • Pick customized me a smilingdog Swamp Witch guitar with many details that made it fun and interesting. He also donated a Swamp Witch for each years festival in St. Louis 2014-2022. These were raffle for non profits such as Six String Heroes Jefferson Barracks veterans. It was fun knowing Pick as Anonymous and professionally. Guitar in case was signed by both Canadian and U.S. veterans, one of which was over 100 years old.10921888083?profile=RESIZE_710x10921888492?profile=RESIZE_710x10921888879?profile=RESIZE_710x

  • Just catching up on the past year's events...  PIC welcomed me as a fellow Canuck when I first joined CBN way back when.  He commented on my work a number of times.  Many thanks to all who made this post happen.  As PIC last told me... "now that's craftsmanship!".

  • @AGP #,  Good detective work.  Sounds like ol' Pick was staying positive and happy to see that his 'baby' was living on. And Ben certainly is a good one to continue it in Pick's memory.  Thanks, man!

  • Somehow managed to miss this post from August 19  Gary W aka Rev. Bluejeans ;-{

  • Wow, AGP#, that's strange.  Perhaps something will show up here?

  • Ditto the Gary W aka Rev. Bluejeans comment, I just brought up the Swamp Witch Guitars Web Site, and a notice on the home page states : Note...due to health reasons...swamp witch guitars is under  new ownership. All  orders should be made through  cbgitty Crafter Supply. Do not order from this page

    But!, could find no reference to them on the Gitty Site ??? :-)

  • Thank for sharing. I know he will be missed.

  • Looks like he could be Dave Lynas’s younger brother ;)

  • Ah yes....  missed my chance to own a SwampWitch.  Always tempted, just didn't get it done.  He'll be sorely missed here at the Nation.  RIP, A.P.
