  • Interesting observation BrianQ! That might explain why this guitar is as quiet as an unplugged electric guitar.

  • I appreciate the high marks Uncle John! The first one had a buzz problem in the neck I could not resolve, so I had to chase down more tennis rackets and try again. Actually, once I came up with a solution to leveling the top of the neck (a trim router, flat bit, and a fixture to guide it), it is a pretty straightforward build from there.

  • One of the nicest of these that I have seen..

  • Yea, I noticed on the ones I built that the tight windings in the head of the racket zapped the volume quite a bit?

  • Thanks for the kind words BrianQ! This thing is silent unplugged, but sounds great once I plug it in. I guess I’m late to the party as far as tennis racket guitars are concerned; I just needed a reason to build one.

  • Thanks! Nice touch on yours Alan by including the grip. I need to be able to play at least 50 songs on this one, so I wanted a smooth neck. Will see how it goes; it is pretty easy to play and will be featured here at CBN soon enough.

  • Thanks Glenn! This one has a future for an upcoming 50th High School Pre Reunion Promotional in 2025. I’m a bit ahead of schedule. Depending on how things play out, I may make a right handed one out of the other matching racket for a give away (lefty guitars aren’t really suitable).

  • Kool, I haven’t built one of those for quite some time, ash is a sweet wood for musical instruments!

  • "Nice Doug" :-), every man has to have a Tennis Racket Git, I built this one back in Oct 2019, sounds great, but like most of my builds, it doesn't get played :-(

  • Way cool Doug! I made one and gave it away -but not before I played it on stage during a Cali. tour, ha. Fun stuff indeed! -Glenn
