Brian, the mahogany comes from a local luthier supply company but it has knots and other imperfections so I’m able to buy it by the pound. Same thing with the fretboard and bridge. Also, much lower grade quality spruce that has some “scars” on the lower bout. I think it gives it some character.
You’re right John! That is a true story. They have a forklift inlaid in it made of pearl. Also, Robert Benedetto who makes arch top guitars made one from construction grade pine.
Beautiful! Glad it sounds so good. There is a story, a true one, I think. Where people said Taylor guitars are so good because of the fine woods they use. So... They made one out of pallet wood. It looked and played wonderfully. Like yours.

Great looking 6 stringer, looks a lot better than the guitars coming from China, now that’s reject wood? What’s the scale length?
